My gals and I had quite the time deciding who to pick. We all had our favorites, but we had to come to a decision: and here's our pick!
Congratulations to Faith, Laney, and Addy Wagner for their
Triple Heart Ponytail!
Here it is!
1. Start with a basic ponytail. Take a small section of hair from the top of the pony tail and bring it up and over the pony. Have someone hold that while you take another rubber band and secure slightly above your first ponytail. (Making it slightly above is important to having your hearts stay up instead of flopping over.)
2. Smooth out your left out section and put a rubber band in about 5 inches down (or however big you want your hearts.) Split the section in half and pull the hair through twice, going from underneath. When you let go, it should bounce up into a heart shape. If the heart flops over, make sure you have ‘topsy tailed’ from underneath and make sure your second rubber band is above the first.
3. Secure the bottom of this heart to the rest of the ponytail.
4. Put in another rubber band slightly under the bottom of your heart to begin the process again. (We have also tried using the bottom of the heart as the starting point for the next, but it doesn’t come out as clearly.)
5. Again, flip up a small section and secure with a rubber band above the initial one. When you choose your sections to flip, dig out some of the long hair from the middle to avoid using the ends from your heart above and having too many flyaways. Repeat for as much hair as your ponytail has.
My daughter loved wearing this hair to school. She got so many compliments!
Here's a few of our faves (I couldn't resist showing off some of these marvelous ideas!)
Happy Valentine's Day!!
